Support for Newly Arrived School Children

The New Asia Connecting Hearts Team was established, with newly arrived students serving as members of the executive committee. The team holds regular gatherings for newly arrived students from time to time to share their experience and help the newcomers solve their learning and adaptation difficulties, so that they could adapt to campus life as soon as possible.

Through interviews with newly arrived students, teachers understand their needs and challenges, help them solve problems and build up their self-confidence.

Teachers of the English Department provide English tutorial classes for newly arrived students, and provide relevant teaching materials and aids to assist them to adapt to English learning as soon as possible.

Visits are held twice a year to help newly arrived school children get to know Hong Kong and integrate into the community.

Close liaison and collaboration with the Guidance Team is also maintained and newly arrived students are arranged to meet or participate in social service work to enhance their self-confidence.
