Subject selection guidance activities for S3 students

Through the"New Senior Secondary Curriculum Introduction",S3 students can learn about the elective subjects in senior secondary and be assisted in choosing subjects that suit their abilities and interests.

The "Elective Subject Taster Activity"allows students to choose two elective subjects according to their interests, participate in two physical lessons, and experience senior form learning in person, so as to help them choose subjects that suit their abilities and interests.

Secondary 4 China Merchants-Yan Oi Tong Yes Life Happiness Program

Based on the theoretical framework of "positive psychology", the programme aims to cultivate an optimistic and positive attitude among students. Through six positive values lessons, students are assisted in increasing positive emotions, establishing positive interpersonal relationships and life goals, understanding their personal strengths, uncovering their own potentials and enhancing their resilience.

Secondary 5 "Simulated Life Workshop"

The workshop is aimed at helping students plan their future career and set personal goals. Through interactive activities, students can reflect on their own life and experience making choices at different stages of life.

Secondary 5 and Secondary 6 "Further Studies and Career Expo"

The Expo consists of two main parts: "seminars" and "exhibitions". A number of educational institutions provide the latest information on course content, application methods, career paths and employment prospects. Students can go to different booths to obtain information about further studies according to their needs, and consult on the spot, so that they can make timely plans for their future.

S4-S5 "Life Buddies" Mentoring Scheme

The mentorship team from " Kabushikigaisha " arranged for students to visit different physical stores, to help them understand the development trends of the industry, which will assist students in planning for their future. They also shared interview techniques and experiences , which helped enhance the students' interview skills.

Parents’ Talk

Every year, our school holds a talk to help S3 parents better understand the subject selection and further studies for senior secondary. The Senior Secondary Subject Selection Talk for Parents includes an introduction to the new senior secondary curriculum, the senior secondary subjects offered at our school, the features of each elective subject, and tips for subject selection. This is to provide parents with sufficient information to assist their children in making their subject choices.

Our school also organizes a “Facing the HKDSE Exam” talk for S6 parents. It provides S6 parents with information on the diverse pathways for further studies and on how to help their children prepare for the HKDSE examination and for the release of the examination results.
