IT in Education

The "IT in Education Team" of our school promotes, encourages and supports the use of e-learning resources in various KLAs. With the adoption of the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) scheme, we have developed a school-based blended mode of learning and teaching.

Our school applies to the Community Care Fund and the Quality Education Fund for funds to assist students in need to purchase tablets, styluses and other accessories. So far, nearly half of our students have their own devices for learning. All classrooms in the school are equipped with interactive electronic whiteboards to promote interaction between teachers and students in the classroom.

Our teachers regularly participate in in-house and external training programs to keep up with the recent trends in the education field towards using e-learning to facilitate teaching and learning. Teachers across different subjects also create various online pre-lesson and revision materials for students, which helps enhance their self-directed learning abilities. Teachers also incorporate e-learning elements into their classroom lessons as needed, which boosts students’ learning motivation. This also facilitates collaborative learning among students both inside and outside the classroom.

Information literacy is also an important part of our school's implementation of e-learning. Therefore, our school organizes talks on "Information Literacy " and "Information Literacy lesson" by class teachers every year to teach students to become responsible digital citizens.

Our school will continue to research and experiment with diverse e-learning teaching and learning strategies. In addition to enhancing learning effectiveness, these strategies will make student learning more personalized and mobile in order to cultivate students' lifelong learning capabilities.
